<br />Section 7. Limits of Franchise Operation <br /> <br />Subsection a. The grantee shall receive and distribute only television and radio signals <br /> <br />which are disseminated to the general public wi thout charge by Federal Communications <br /> <br />Commission licensed broadcasting stations. The grantee shall not transmit any commercial <br /> <br />lformation or advertisement except that which is received from an officially licensed <br /> <br />station and merely relayed to its subscribers. <br /> <br />Subsection b. The grantee shall provide appropriate television signal strength to public <br /> <br />school locations and teaching stations within the city upon request by the city and at no <br /> <br />cost to it or to the public school system. <br /> <br />Subsection c. The grantee shall not transmit over the system FM radio signals. <br /> <br />Subsection d. The grantee shall carry the programs of the commercial and educational <br /> <br />channels in their entirety as received by the grantee I including announcements and adver- <br /> <br />tising and without picture or sound degradation except as caused by forces beyond the <br /> <br />reasonable control of the grantee. <br /> <br />Subsection e. The grantee shall so operate its system that there will be no inter- <br /> <br />ference with television or radio reception through individually owned receiving antennas. <br /> <br />Subsection f. In case of any emergency or disaster I grantee shall make available to <br /> <br />the City of Martinsville I and to its agencies I grantee's facilities for the emergency or <br /> <br />_.'-' <br /> <br />disaster period. <br /> <br />Subsection g. Not later than three hundred sixty-five (365) days after the date of <br /> <br />ddoption by the city council of ordinance granting to the grantee the privileges of this <br /> <br />franchise I the grantee hereunder shall have established and commenced business operations <br /> <br />to the extent of being in a position to provide subscribers within the city with community <br /> <br />antenna television service. The grantee shall not be relieved of this condition under any <br /> <br />circumstances. <br /> <br />Subsection h. The grant of this franchise does not extend to the grantee any privileges <br /> <br />for the conduct of business or activities as are or would be otherwise licensed by the city <br /> <br />or other governmental jurisdiction I such as television or radio equipment sales I repair I <br /> <br />service or rental. <br /> <br />- 6 - <br />
