<br />4€ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 26, 1965 <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved a petition requesting the construction by the <br /> <br />City (on a shared-cost basi:3) of curb-and-gutter along Armstead Street, from <br /> <br />Fayette street to Amy Avenue, said construction to coincide with the previously- <br /> <br />approved project involving Armstead Street from Amy Avenue to Community Hospital. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Council also approved a subdivision contract with Lanier Farm, Inc., pertaining <br /> <br />to the residential development by Lanier Farm of its property in the area east of <br /> <br />Hazelwood Lane, between Sam Lion Trail and Spruce Street Extended. In connection <br /> <br />therewith, Council received three bids for the construction of water and sewer <br /> <br />lines to serve the Hunting Ridge phase of this subdivision development, the <br /> <br />lowest biG being accepted, viz., $15,650.00, submitted by Laramore Construction <br /> <br />Company. <br /> <br />Council, further, approved a subdivision contract with Mr. Lawson L. Lester, Jr., <br /> <br />pertaining to development by Mr. Lester of his property at the intersection of <br /> <br />Forest Street and Smith Lake Road. <br /> <br />To provide for the furnishing of electric service to the City's water pumping <br /> <br />station being constructed at the City's water impounding reservoir, Council <br /> <br />authorized the executing of a contract for such service with the Appalachian <br /> <br />Power Company. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Upon being notified that the term of Mr. Irving R. McGhee--as City representative <br /> <br />on the Armory Advisory Committee--expires November 15, 1965, Council unanimously <br /> <br />reappointed Mr. McGhee to membership on this committee for a three-year term. <br /> <br />In connection with an inquiry regarding the fact that Halloween this year falls <br /> <br />on Sunday (October 31st), Council urged the public to celebrate this event on <br />Saturday, October 30th. <br /> <br />w. <br /> <br /> <br />, Clerk of Council <br /> <br />Council wa<) a dj ourned. <br />
