<br />46 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 12. 1965 <br /> <br />,.,,,,_. <br /> <br />This meeting being the last meeting under the tenure of City Manager Hirst, <br /> <br /> <br />who has accepted the City Managership of the City of Roanoke, effective <br /> <br /> <br />October 15, 1965, Council expressed its pleasure in having had Mr. Hirst as <br /> <br /> <br />Martinsvil1e's City Manager for the past nine years, commending Mr. Hirst for <br /> <br /> <br />his most able and efficient conduct of City affairs and assuring him of <br /> <br />Council's best wishes in his new assignment. In responding to Council's <br /> <br />expression of appreciation and commendation, Mr. Hirst informed Council that <br /> <br />the numerous indications from citizens, while including regrets over his <br /> <br />leaving Martinsville and congratulating him upon his being appointed Roanoke <br /> <br />City Manager, revealed an abundance of confidence by citizens in the Martinsville <br /> <br />City Council and in the Martinsville government as well as satisfaction with <br /> <br />the progress of Martinsville. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />w. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br /> <br />',----- -_.j <br /> <br />MEMORANDlJM: W.
