~24

TUESDAY

JULY 13. 1965

and that it has granted preliminary approval to the proposed re-subdivision

of properties created by this abandonment, concluding that the proposed

re-subdivision would be more feasible than the original subdivision.

In acknowledging receipt of the following bids for the constructing of

water and sewer lines in the H. P. Williams subdivision at the extension

of Whittle Road, Council unanimously accepted the lowest bid, being that

of $17,809.95 ($8,756.85 for water lines and $9,053.10 for sewer lines)

submitted by Hackler-Seymour Metal Works:

Hackler~Seymour Metal Works
Laramore Construction Company
Prillaman & Pace, Inc.

$17,809.95;
18,384.60 ;
17,835.45.

and

A petition submitted by Messrs. L. P. Prillaman & Charlie M. Finney,

requesting the rezoning of lots numbers one through five on the south side

of Cherry Street to "M-3 Industrial", was referred to the Planning Commission

for its consideration and recommendation.

Having viewed the streets for which petitions are on file for curb-and-gutter

and/or sidewalk construction on a shared-cost basis, Council compiled a list

of projects tentatively approved for the year 1965-66, consisting of a total

of 12,614 lineal feet, with authorization to proceed with the First Street

project. Meanwhile, a group of citizens residing in the 800 block of Corn

Tassel Trail appealed to Council for the including of their block in the

construction schedule, citing the fact that not only is there great need

for curb-and-gutter in this block but that also the petition for this block

is some three years old, or older than that for the block on this street

selected for construction. Council agreed to re-review this petition and

block.
