<br />~90 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 13. 1965 <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of the following bids for replacing a sewer line <br /> <br />in the Pond Street area along the right-of-way of the Norfolk & Western <br /> <br />Railway Company: <br /> <br />Hackler-Seymour <br /> <br />Prillaman & Pace <br /> <br />8" concrete <br />8" V. c. <br /> <br />$i~, 645.00 <br />$4,845.00 <br /> <br />$4,710.00 <br />$4,710.00 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted the <br /> <br />low bid of--and awarded the contract to--Hackler-Seymour Metal Works, Inc., <br /> <br />i.e., the bid of $4,645.00 for eight-inch concrete pipe. <br /> <br />Upon being advised that a proposed contract with Mr. H. P. Williams meets <br /> <br />the requirements of the City's subdivision ordinance, Council approved said <br /> <br />contract for execution by City officials, which contract relates to the <br /> <br />development of the lower end (and beyond) of Whittle Road. <br /> <br />Dr. I. Slaydon Myers appeared before Council and recommended the establishing <br /> <br />of a juvenile court (separate from any other court) for the City of Martinsville <br /> <br />or jointly with the County of Henry, stating that legislation by the 1964 <br /> <br />General Assembly provided for such courts, with the only obligations upon the <br /> <br />locality or localities being to provide quarters and maintenance and utility <br /> <br />services. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />)l)fl~ <- , <br />W.
