<br />368 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 23, 1965 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following Motor Vehicle License Tax ordinance for the year beginning <br /> <br />March 15, 1965, as placed on first reading February 9, 1965: <br />(SEE INSE11.T) <br /> <br />Also upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted <br /> <br />the following ordinance--replacing ordinance of similar title adopted <br /> <br />June 11, 1957--imposing and levying a monthly tax on the users of water <br />and electric services within the City: <br /> <br />(SEE INSERT) <br /> <br />Council continued--subject to a public hearing, as required by law--the <br /> <br />proposal to increase from $1.85 to $2.00 the tax rate on local real estate <br /> <br />and on public service corporation properties, applicable to the forthcoming <br /> <br />1965 property tax levy. <br /> <br />Council also continued, for study, the proposed rules and regulations <br /> <br />governing the operation of the new National Guard Armory, as prepared by <br /> <br />the special National Guard Armory Advisory Committee and as received by <br /> <br />Council on February 9, 1965. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst presented an architect's drawing and other pertinent <br /> <br />details of a new fire station to be located on City property at the corner <br /> <br />of Moss and Church Streets. After viewing this drawing and after some <br /> <br />discussion, Council directed that plans and specifications be prepared for <br /> <br />this station and in order that construction bids can be invited and obtained <br /> <br />as soon as possible. <br />
