<br />3() <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 9. 1965 <br /> <br />should perform general maintenance of said street to permit one-lane ingress <br /> <br />and egres:3 to property owned by the Childress family and as referred to in <br /> <br />Council's minutes of meeting held June 13, 1951. Council concurred in the <br /> <br />Committee1s findings. <br /> <br />Mayor Wil:3on reported that a final inspection was made by certain officials <br /> <br />on Februffi'y 9th of the new Health Center and that only a few minor items <br /> <br />require further attention to permit the use of this building, which Mayor <br /> <br />Wilson de:3cri bed as a wonderful asset to the community. <br /> <br />With reference to a request submitted November 12, 1963, for the widening of <br /> <br /> <br />Pine Hall Road, in which interest has recently been re-activated by residents <br /> <br /> <br />of this street, Public Works Director George W. Brown informed Council that-- <br /> <br />with the eooperation of certain property owners in providing additional <br /> <br /> <br />right-of-vray--the City can schedule this street for widening during this <br /> <br /> <br />year to the extent of four feet on the northeast side. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst reported that the City Electoral Board has advised, by <br /> <br />letter, that it has no objection to the lending of one of the City's voting <br /> <br /> <br />machines to Martinsville High School for the conduct of a student election, <br /> <br /> <br />although the Board disclaims any responsibility for the transportation of the <br /> <br />voting machine or any damage thereto. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Mr. C. Harry Anglin appeared before Council and presented an outline of his <br /> <br />intention-.-subj ect to obtaining a franchise from the Ci ty--to construct a <br /> <br /> <br />CATV (Community Antenna Television) facility by which he would guarantee users <br /> <br /> <br />of this service good television reception from all twelve television channels <br />
