Dodge <br /> <br />City of Martinsville <br />National Guard <br />Citizens-at-large <br /> <br />One-Year <br />Two-Year <br />Three-Year <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst presented a brief "status report" on the City's current <br /> <br />sewerage system improvement program, after which Mayor Wilson and other <br /> <br />members of Council discussed the need for other municipal improvements which <br /> <br />were the subject of the October 20th bond referendum, describing these needs <br /> <br />as urgent and indicating that w~s and means are being considered to finance <br /> <br />these proposed improvements. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst informed Council that conferences are underway with <br /> <br />representatives of Sale Knitting Company, the Virginia Department of Highways, <br /> <br />and the Carolina & Northwestern Railway Company in an effort to protect the <br /> <br />City's interest in preserving adequate right-of-way for a street connection <br /> <br />between Liberty Street and Northside Drive, particularly in relation to an <br /> <br />addition to Sale Knitting Company near the proposed street.
