<br />J30 <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 10, 1964 <br /> <br />TlJE}SDAY <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, November 10, 1964, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br />members of Council being present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor <br /> <br />Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Thomas J. Burch; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held October 27, 1964. <br /> <br />After learning that no response has been received either from Moorefield's <br /> <br />Cleaners (~ Laundry or from County-City Laundry Corporation in connection <br /> <br />with Council's warning i,3sued October 13, 1964 that regulatory meaSures will <br /> <br />be enacted by Council if smoke-and-air pollution is not satisfactorily abated <br /> <br />by these two firms, Council directed the City Manager and the City Attorney <br /> <br />to prepare an ordinance--for Council's consideration--to compel smoke-and- <br /> <br />air-pollution abatement by local offenders. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a proposed amendment to the City's Zoning Code--recommended by the <br /> <br />Planning Commission--whereby "dental laboratoriesll will be permitted to <br /> <br />operate in "P-2 Professional" districts. There being no objections <br /> <br />registered, Council unanimsouly adopted the following ordinance amending the <br /> <br />Zoning Code to permit "dental laboratories" to operate in said "P-2 Professional" <br /> <br />districts, numbering same as paragraph 8 of Section Five, Subsection F, and <br /> <br />renumbering present paragra.ph 8 thereof as paragraph 9: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this tenth day of November, 1964, that paragraph <br />8 of Section Five, Subsection F, of the Zoning Code of the City of <br />Martinsville be and is hereby renumbered as "9" and that in its place, <br />and hereby designated as "paragraph 8", shall be "Dental Laboratories". <br />
