J30 NOVEMBER 10, 1964 TlJE}SDAY The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, November 10, 1964, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members of Council being present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Thomas J. Burch; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. Stone. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held October 27, 1964. After learning that no response has been received either from Moorefield's Cleaners (~ Laundry or from County-City Laundry Corporation in connection with Council's warning i,3sued October 13, 1964 that regulatory meaSures will be enacted by Council if smoke-and-air pollution is not satisfactorily abated by these two firms, Council directed the City Manager and the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance--for Council's consideration--to compel smoke-and- air-pollution abatement by local offenders. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the City's Zoning Code--recommended by the Planning Commission--whereby "dental laboratoriesll will be permitted to operate in "P-2 Professional" districts. There being no objections registered, Council unanimsouly adopted the following ordinance amending the Zoning Code to permit "dental laboratories" to operate in said "P-2 Professional" districts, numbering same as paragraph 8 of Section Five, Subsection F, and renumbering present paragra.ph 8 thereof as paragraph 9: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this tenth day of November, 1964, that paragraph 8 of Section Five, Subsection F, of the Zoning Code of the City of Martinsville be and is hereby renumbered as "9" and that in its place, and hereby designated as "paragraph 8", shall be "Dental Laboratories".
