<br />~60 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 1 2. 1964 <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst notified Council that bids will be received by the City on <br /> <br />June 2, 1964, for the construction of a portion of the Smith River Sewer <br /> <br />Outfall line al1d for the Mulberry Creek Interceptor line. City Manager Hirst <br /> <br />also informed Council that an application has recently been filed with the <br /> <br />Federal Goverwnent for Federal aid towards the Askin Street Outfall, Smith <br /> <br />Lake Outfall, and Jefferson 'Street phases of the sewerage system improvements <br /> <br />program. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry, Council was informed that the lighting of Clearview Field will be <br /> <br />completed within the week and that autnorized improveme~ts (paving of courts, <br /> <br />etc.) to the Church Street Park will be completed next week. <br /> <br />Mr. Carl Bach, of the Smoke Abatement Committee, reported to Council that ne'd <br /> <br />equipment, is being installed or is soon to be installed by several local <br /> <br />industrial and/or commercial plants which should considerably reduce air <br /> <br />pollution in the City. <br /> <br />Dr. C. J. Mathes, Director of the local Health Department, reported that bids <br /> <br />will be received on May 21st for the construction of a new Health Center. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />),; H "::'r' <br />W.
