23 MARCH 10, 1 964 TUESDAY ,,--- Dr. Charles J. Mathes, Health Director, and Mr. J. Coates Carter, Architect, appeared before Council and presented proposed plans for the nm..r Health Center. COLUlcil was informed that these plans are in process of being reviewed-- for apr:roval and/or or revision--by the 'State Health Department and the office of the U. S. Surgeon General. ,,-" Mr. J. EnglLsh Ford, Attorney at Law, appeared before Council on behalf of the firm of Wells & Hundley, Builders & Developers, and requested permission for his c:~ient to extend--at no cost to the City--the City's present 'water main from its terminus on Victoria Road (or Victoria Drive), out~3ide the City's northeast corporate limits off Route 57 (Chatham Road) for a distance generally northward of approximately 2,200 feet to the extension of Clearview Drive. The petitioners agreed, also, if permission is granted, to abide by the City';3 regulations gove~~Ding the extension of utili ties outside the corporate limits as well as be subject to the Planning Commission's approval and other City regulations.
