<br />23~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />M1illCH 10. 1964 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Marti::1sville, <br /> <br />Virginia, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, March 10, 1964, <br /> <br />beginning at 7:30 P.M. Members of Council present were: Vice-Mayor Fred T. <br /> <br />Renick, M.D., presiding; Harry L. Boaz; and E. E. Stone. (Mayor J. Frank <br /> <br />Wilson and Mr. Thomas J. Burch were absent--out of town.) <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />meeting held February 25, 1964, and of its special meeting held February 27, <br /> <br />1964. <br /> <br />Couneil eontinued for additional consideration the proposed Zoning Code-- <br /> <br />with revisions to date--as prepared by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />By written report, the Board of Viewers appointed FebrQary 25, 1964, to view <br /> <br />that portion of Roy Street requested by Sale Knitting Company to be closed <br /> <br />and abandoned, informed Council that the Board has viewed that portion of <br /> <br />Roy Street and in i t;3 opinion has determined that no inconvenience will <br /> <br />result to anyone whatsoever as a result of abandoning and discontinuing <br /> <br />said portion of Roy Street. Upon motion, duly seconded, Council unanimously <br /> <br />aceepted the Vie1..Jers' report and--wi th the understanding that utility ease- <br /> <br />ments will be reserved to the City--directed that the portion of Roy Street <br /> <br />hereinafter described be declared vacated and abandoned and, further, <br /> <br />directed that the Clerk of Martinsville City Circuit Court be so advised <br /> <br />of this action and be requested to mark his records accordingly: <br /> <br />...- <br /> <br />"That certain street located in the City of MG,~:,tinsvil Le, Virginia, <br />known as a portion of Roy Street as shown on map of property for <br />Sale Knitting Company, prepared by J.
