<br />Dr. Charles J. Mathes, Director of the Health Department, reported that the
<br />
<br />position of sanitarian for the Health Department--recently authorized--will
<br />
<br />be filled on November 1st and, too, that the State Department of Health has
<br />
<br />
<br />refunded to the City the sum of $2,200.92 against Health Department expenses
<br />
<br />
<br />for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1963.
<br />
<br />Councilmen Thomas J. Burch and E. E. Stone--a special committee--reported
<br />
<br />that it has considered all available properties and sites on which the City
<br />
<br />might relocate its municipal building facilities and, as a result, recommended
<br />
<br />
<br />that the City-owned property, plus some additional property to be acquired,
<br />
<br />
<br />be designated as the site for a new munieipal building and that the City
<br />
<br />
<br />proceed with preliminary plans for such a building at such site. Council
<br />unanimously accepted the committee's report and recommendations.
<br />
<br />Upon motion by Councilman Burcb, duly seconded and carried, Council voted
<br />
<br />to place upon first reading at its forthcoming October 22nd meeting the
<br />
<br />proposed new zoning code and ordinance as submitted by the Planning
<br />
<br />Commission, with a duly-advertised public hearing on same to be conducted
<br />
<br />
<br />at an appropriate date yet to be determined, and with appropriate publicity
<br />
<br />
<br />on the scope and details of the proposed new zoning code.
<br />
<br />Council was adjourned.
