<br />~8 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOB:&'1. 8. 1963 <br /> <br />Meanwhile, in reviewing sewerage prob::'ems and the current construction <br /> <br />schedule, Council requested of City Manager Hirst a current financing <br /> <br />schedule for sewer construction--reflecting current revenue trends, Federal <br /> <br />aid, and other pertinent matters--wi th the hope of accelerating the <br /> <br />construction progr&~. <br /> <br />Council waS informed that opposition has been registered, both with Coun::;il <br /> <br />and the Planning Commjssion, by a number of residents, against any rezoning <br /> <br />for business or commercial usage of any property lying along Church Street <br /> <br />between Cleveland Avenue and Starling Avenue. <br /> <br />Council received and acknowledged the following initial report of the <br /> <br />Mayor's Committee on Public Relations, as submitted by Mr. J. C. Hooker, <br /> <br />Sr., its chairman: <br /> <br />This Report is to inform the Mayor and City Council th.:?t in <br />accordance with your request that a meeting of this Committee <br />be held prior to September 30, 1963, that such a meeting waS <br />held. All committee members were present. <br /> <br />It was an exploratory meeting. The members had an opportunity <br />to meet and know each other. There was general discussion on <br />matters involving community public relations. <br /> <br />When from time to time, there are matters which the Committee <br />feels should be brought to the attention of the Mayor or the <br />City Counci 1 a report will be made to the Mayor. The same <br />p:::'ocedure will be followed on matters which the Mayor or the <br />City Council may refer to the Committee. <br /> <br />The Committee assures the Mayor and the City Council of its <br />interest in carrying out the charge given it. <br /> <br />Council also received the following report of the City Planning Commission <br /> <br />recommending approval by Council of rezoning requests recently submitted <br /> <br />by Mr. J. C. Aaron (involving property in the "Doe Run Creek" area) and by <br />
