<br />~2 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 13. 1962 <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, Council directed the escrowing for <br /> <br />future municipal building needs the sum of $2,424.86 received from the State <br /> <br />Board of Health as a refund of that portion of the City's share of expenses of <br /> <br />operating the local joint health unit represented by personnel vacancies in <br /> <br />the local unit during the last fiscal year. <br /> <br />Council congratulated the Police Department and Traffic Department and other <br /> <br />departments involved upon receipt of an award from the American Automobile <br /> <br />Association for the City!s 1961 Pedestrian Safety Program. <br /> <br />Council noted that the local tobacco market has established a new "high" in <br /> <br />tobacco volume marketed in Martinsville during the current season and instructed <br /> <br />Council's Clerk to convey by letter to the local tobacco marketing group <br /> <br />Council's commendation and congratulations. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />~'~ ,.. <br />W.
