<br />76 <br /> <br />THURSDAY <br /> <br />SEFTE}ffiER 27. 1~62 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Hartinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank vTilson presiding, was held in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, CitJr llill, Thursday, ~~epte.llber 27, 1962, at 7:30 P.M., this meeting <br /> <br />having been re-scheduled from Tuesday, September 25, 1962. All members of <br /> <br />Council were present, viz., Hayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Henick; <br /> <br />Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held September 11, 1962, and of its special meeting held September <br /> <br />21, 1962. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of an audit report on the City's financial <br /> <br />activities and condition, covering the City's fiscal year ended June 30, 1962, <br /> <br />as prepared and presented by William Z. Ford, CPA. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following ordinance amending Chapter 10 of the City Code 'b-.f adding Section 10-34 <br /> <br />thereto, which 1,rill permit under prescribed conditions the operation of rifle <br /> <br />or tal~fet ranges \orithin the corporate limits, as recently requested by the <br /> <br />Community Recreation Center: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of tho City of Mal,tinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting addembled this 27th day of September, 1962, that the <br />Code of the City of Martinsville, Vir~inia (1956, and as amended), be <br />and is herehy amended by the adding thereto of the following Section 10-34: <br /> <br />Section 1C-34. Target Ranges. <br /> <br />The provision of Section 10-32, pertaininE to firing or dischal~gine: any <br />firearm within the City, 311811 not apply to those persons firing or <br />discharging firearms on an approved and authorized target range. A <br />target range, if it be authorj.zed and approved, shall meet those <br />specifications--pertaining to tarGct ranges--on file in the office of <br />the Clerk of the City Couneil.
