<br />;2 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 14, 1962 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council <br /> <br />authorized and directed City Attorney Cubine to present to the <br /> <br />Henry County Board of Supervisors a petition requesting the <br /> <br />Supervisors to order "vacated and abandoned" certain platted <br /> <br />streets within the City's airport tract, which platted streets <br /> <br />were recorded by the former owners of the tract, as found in <br /> <br />Map Book #1, Page 231, in the office of the Clerk of Henry County <br /> <br />Circuit Court. <br /> <br />Pursuant to City Charter provisions, Council called for a special <br /> <br />and organizational meeting of the Council to be held September 1, <br /> <br />1962, at 9:00 A.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst announced that the 1962 annual meeting of the <br /> <br />Virginia Municipal League will be held in Richmond, Virginia, <br /> <br />September 23rd-24th-25th. <br /> <br />Mr. William F. Stone, Attorney at Law and State Senator, notified <br /> <br />Council of scheduled meetings of the Highway Study Commission--of <br /> <br />which he is chairman--and urged that they express themselves to <br /> <br />the study commission as to their preferences in ways and means of <br /> <br />raising additional revenue to finance highway needs in Virginia. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned, <br /> <br />), <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br /> <br />w.
