60 TUESDAY AUGUST 14. 1962 WHEREAS, George L. Nease, Helen W, Nease, Harold P. Williams, and Dorothy S. Williams (through their counsel) on May 22, 1962, filed with Martinsville City Council their petition requesting the closing of that certain portion of Sunset Drive, more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the northern margin of Sunset Drive, said point being where the Martinsville City Limit line intersects the southern boundary line of Lot No.2 and the northern margin of Sunset Drive; thence with the northern margin of Sunset Drive to a point; thence S. 10 W. 30 ft. to a point on the south- ern margin of Sunset Drive; thence with said southern margin of Sunset Drive to the point that it intersects the Martinsville City Limit line; thence with said Martinsville City Limit line to the point of beginning; all of herein-described area being a part of a map entitled, "Plat of Property of James D.Dobson", prepared by J. A. Trent, C.L.S., on April 30, 1956, and of record in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Henry County, Virginia, in Map Book 8, at page 114; and WHEREAS, it appears that required notices have been duly posted, in accordance with Section 15-766 of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended); and WHEREAS, a duly-appointed Board of Viewers--composed Qf Messrs. R. A. Henderson, Jr" J. E, Jones, and Clarence C. Donovant-- has fulfilled the duties assigned under said Section 15-766 of said Code of Virginia and has reported in writing to Martinsville City Council that in its opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing of said portion of Sunset Drive; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this 14th day of August, 1962, that it hereby accepts the report of the named Board of Vlewers and doth hereby and herein direct the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, to mark on his records "vacated and abandoned" said portion of Sunset Drive; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, is hereby authorized and directed to sign this resolution and order for the City of Martinsville, this the 14th day of August, 1962.
