<br />l <br />, <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY ~1. 1 96~ <br /> <br />J'.- <br /> <br />Upon inquiry by City Millager Hirst, Council deferred authorizing a periodic <br /> <br />appraisal and study of' the City's Electric system and its needs, pending a <br />proposal anticipated from the Appalachian Power Company. <br /> <br />Through r-h'. William G. Wells of Yells and Meagher, Architects, Roanoke, Virginia, <br /> <br />Mr. A. O. Krisch, President of Roan Motor Inns, Inc., submit ted the fOllowing <br /> <br />letter in 1.hich he requested the City's permission to connect a new Holiday <br /> <br />Inn Motel--to be constructed on Route 220 North near Villa Heights--to the <br /> <br />City's proposed Jones Creek Interceptor Sewer Line, which request Council took <br /> <br />under consideration: <br /> <br />Roan Motor Inns, Inc., Roanoke, Virginia, request Permission to connect <br />a sewer line, serving the contemplated Ibliday Inn motel, to the pro- <br />posed City of' Martinsville sevrer near the intersection of Beaver and <br />Jones Creeks. <br /> <br />This sewer line would be not less than 6 inch diameter and would be <br />located in general as indicated on Exhibit "A". The Holiday Inn site <br />plan is shown on Exhibit "Bn. <br /> <br />Construction should be started in August 1962, as it is anticipated <br />that the motel will be ready for occupancy 1 March 1963. The Henry <br />County Health Department will be asked to permit interim partial treat- <br />ment facilities to be used in order to dispose of remaining sewage into <br />the intersection of Beaver and Jones Creeks. <br /> <br />Water for this project will be obtained fran Villa Heights Water Corp- <br />oration, Martinsville, Virginia. Two 2 inch water meters will be in- <br />stalled. <br /> <br />It is estimated that the max:i.mum water consumption could be 294 gallons <br />per minute occuring daily between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.H. <br /> <br />The owner of the proposed motel, will be responsible for procuring <br />engineering services and the contractor for sewer facilities; however, <br />arrangements for transferring completed facilities to Henry County or <br />the City of Martinsville (including possible future users and <br />financial arrangements) are open for discussion. <br /> <br />Mt'. William G. Wells of Wells & Meagher, Architects, Roanoke, Virginia, <br />is designated to appear before you in connection with the technical <br />requirements of our se"rage requirements. <br /> <br />We shall appreciate any suggestions and assistance that you may have <br />to offer. <br />
