<br />WHEREAS, J. English Ford, duly-appointed Right-of-Way Negotiator for
<br />the City of Martimville, the Commonwealth of V:irginia, and the Federal
<br />Government, in co nnec tion with th e improving and wideni ng of U. S.
<br />Route 58 from Bob Gregory Street to the City's East corporate limits
<br />on said U. S. Route 58, has advised the Couroil of the City of Vl8rtins-
<br />ville that he has exhausted all available means within the limitations
<br />of his authority, without success, towards purchasing the fee simple
<br />title to that certain parcel of land reportedly owned by Covel Seay
<br />and/or Jerry Seay and known and described as Parcel No. 008 as right-
<br />of-way for the aforerrentioned construction project; am
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said strip or parcel of land is necessary for the construction,
<br />re-comtruction, alteration, and maintenance of said street; now,
<br />tffirefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />regular meeting held June 12, 1962, that on behalf of the governments
<br />hereinabove mentioned Irvin W. Cubine, an attormy at law, be and is
<br />hereby appointed attorney and agent with authorization to institute and
<br />conduct condemnation proceedings to acquire said land in fee simple,
<br />together with necessary easerrents, and as its attorrey to make oath to
<br />the petition, all in accord with the statutes in this State and the
<br />provisions of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />such cases made and provided.

<br />those certain parcels of land owned or reportedly owned 'by Stuart Seay's Heirs and Toney Rc
