Broaddus, III, Attorney at Law and Counsel for Petitioner, <br /> <br />The First National Bank of Martinsville & Henry County filed a request asking <br /> <br />for the rezoning, to "C-3 Connnercial", of its property at the intersection of <br /> <br />Askin, South and Sunnnit Streets. Pursuant to Petitioner's request for expeditious <br /> <br />processing thereof, Council--in referring this matter to the Planning Connnission <br /> <br />for its consideration and reconnnendation--suggested that, shoUd the Connnission <br /> <br />in advance find no objection to proceeding with a public hearing, the required <br /> <br />public hearings of both the Connnission and the Council be conducted jointly at <br /> <br />Council's forthcoming October 14th meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Nathaniel W. Carter, of 709 First Street, on behalf of the residents of <br /> <br />First Street, filed with Council a petition requesting the opening of First <br /> <br />Street between "B" Street and 180 feet south of "C" Street.
