IGO

TUESDAY

SEPTEMBER 9, 1969

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville,

Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, September

9, 1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members

being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West;

Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson.

After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular

meeting held August 26, 1969.

In acceptance of the following recommendation of the Planning Commission (dated

September 5, 1969), Council granted permission to Messrs. N. Roscoe Burroughs

and G. T. White to receive City sewer service at their four properties outside

the City's corporate limits on Route 220 North (Villa Heights area), pursuant to

their petition filed July 8, 1969:

The Planning Commission, at its meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 1969,
gave final consideration to a petition submitted by Mr. N. R. Burroughs
and Mr. G. T. White requesting sewer service from the City of Martinsville
to four buildings which they own located in the Villa Heights area in
Henry County.

Following due consideration of this matter, the Commission unanimously
voted to recommend to Council that this petition be granted.

Attached to this letter is a map indicating the properties which are to
be served and the location of the service line to the four buildings
involved. In accordance with a request of the Commission the petitioners
have indicated on this map a resubdivision of the area in order that each
of the four buildings involved is now on a separate lot.

The Commission felt that the circumstances involved in this petition
warranted its recommendation to Council.

The Planning Commission respectfully submits the above recommendation
for Council's further consideration.
