<br />;), ()V <br />) t J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 25, 1969 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, March <br /> <br />25, 1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br />members--excepting Councilman W. Donald Hartford, who was out of the <br /> <br />City--being present, viz., F. T. Renick, M.D., Mayor; Francis T. West, <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor; Harry L. Boaz; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held March 11, 1969. <br /> <br />In acceptance of the following report (dated March 21, 1969) of the <br /> <br />Planning Commission, Council authorized the execution of a contract with <br /> <br />the developers of Tan Bark Place subdivision (Mr. Rives S. Brown, Jr., <br /> <br />and others) whereby said developers will be permitted to extend a City <br /> <br />water main into said subdivision to serve the development, pursuant to <br /> <br />applicable rules and regulations and pursuant to granting of easements <br /> <br />to the City for future sewer line extensions, the requirements--as to sewer <br /> <br />lines--being waived because of impracticable conditions at this time: <br /> <br />The Hartinsville Planning CommiSSion, at its meeting on <br />Thuri3day, March 20, 1969, gave final consideration to a <br />petition submitted by Mr. Rives S. Brown, Jr., and others, <br />requesting the extension of City utilities into his sub- <br />divii3ion off Spruce Street in Henry County known as Tan <br />Bark Place. <br /> <br />Thi:: Commission determined that this subdivision meets the <br />designed standards as set forth in the City's Subdivision <br />Ordinance and recommends that this petition be granted with <br />the ;3tipulation that the development of this property be done <br />in compliance with the R-9 Residential District as set forth <br />in the City's Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission respectfully submits the above <br />recommendation for Council's further consideration. <br /> <br />
