<br />aG~) <br /> <br />MONDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 30. 1968 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting (rescheduled from December 24, 1968) of the <br /> <br />Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., <br /> <br />presiding, was held Monday, December 30, 1968, in the Council Chamber, City <br /> <br />Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., Mayor F. T. <br /> <br />Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; <br /> <br />and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held December 10, 1968. <br /> <br />Pursuant t8 duly-advertised public notice, Council and the Planning Commission <br /> <br />conducted a joint public hearing on application of Martinsville General Hospital <br /> <br />for a Special-Use Permit to allow construction and operation of a medical office <br /> <br />building on the site of the new hospital now under construction on Northside <br /> <br />Drive, pursuant to request dated November 18, 1968. There being no objections <br /> <br />registered to the issuance of such a permit, and subject to the following report <br /> <br />from the Planning Commission, Council granted the requested permit: <br /> <br />Your Planning Commission conducted a public hearing jointly with Council <br />at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, December 30, 1968, on a petition submitted by <br />Mlrtinsville General Hospital requesting a special use permit to allow <br />a unified development on its property in North Martinsville. <br /> <br />Following this public hearing, the Commission with five of its members <br />present, voted to make the following recommendation to Council (Member <br />William G. Pannill abstaining) that a special use permit be granted <br />M~rtinsville General Hospital allowing a unified development on its <br />property with the following provisions attached: <br /> <br />1. That all uses within the area be those uses as listed under P-1 <br />Professional District and in the City's Zoning Ordinance. <br />2. That a 35-foot building setback be maintained from all outside <br />boundary lines including public street lines. <br />3.
