4) (' ! D )-1 TUESDAY DECEMBER 10. 1968 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of MartinsVille, Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, December 10, 1968, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall. All members were present with the exception of Councilman W. Donald Hartford, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. Boaz; and William D. Hobson. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held November 26, 1968. Pursuant ~o duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on (a) a proposed amendment to the City1s Zoning Ordinance and (b) a proposed amendment to the City's Subdivision Ordinance, both amendments relating to "unified developments" and/or the definition thereof, as recommended by the Planning Commission upon recent petition of Martinsville General Hospital. There being no objections registered, Council adopted the amendments by the following ordinances: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this tenth day of December, 1968, that Secti8n II (Definitions) of the City's Zoning Ordinance be, and is here~r, amended to include the following definition, to be inserted between the defined words "Trailer" and "Yard": Unified Development - An area of land not subdivided into the customary streets and lots but containing two or more buildings housing allied uses, so closely related that the development may be considered as designed for one special purpose. The land and/or development being under one ownership shall not be con- sidered the test for applying the term "linified Development".
