<br />4) (' ! <br />D )-1 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 10. 1968 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of MartinsVille, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />December 10, 1968, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City <br /> <br />Hall. All members were present with the exception of Councilman W. Donald <br /> <br />Hartford, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry <br /> <br />L. Boaz; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held November 26, 1968. <br /> <br />Pursuant ~o duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on (a) a proposed amendment to the City1s Zoning Ordinance and (b) a proposed <br /> <br />amendment to the City's Subdivision Ordinance, both amendments relating to <br /> <br />"unified developments" and/or the definition thereof, as recommended by the <br /> <br />Planning Commission upon recent petition of Martinsville General Hospital. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered, Council adopted the amendments by the <br /> <br />following ordinances: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this tenth day of December, 1968, that <br />Secti8n II (Definitions) of the City's Zoning Ordinance be, and is <br />here~r, amended to include the following definition, to be inserted <br />between the defined words "Trailer" and "Yard": <br /> <br />Unified Development - An area of land not subdivided into the <br />customary streets and lots but containing two or more buildings <br />housing allied uses, so closely related that the development <br />may be considered as designed for one special purpose. The land <br />and/or development being under one ownership shall not be con- <br />sidered the test for applying the term "linified Development". <br />
