Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, November 12, 1968, <br /> <br />in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being <br /> <br />present, viz., Dr. F. T. Renick, Mayor; Francis T. West, Vice-Mayor; Harry L. <br /> <br />Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held October 22, 1968. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the Planning Commission's report and recommendation, Council <br /> <br />denied*the rezoning request submitted August 27, 1968, by The Twin City Grocery <br /> <br />Company for its property located at 212 Franklin Street.* <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's report (dated November 8, <br /> <br />1968), Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted at <br /> <br />Council's forthcoming December 10th meeting on the following recommended <br /> <br />additions (amendments) to the City's Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance: <br /> <br />ZONING ORDINANCE - between "Trailer" and "yard" insert the following <br />defini tion: <br /> <br />Unified Development: An area of land not subdivided into the <br />customary streets and lots but containing two or more buildings <br />housing allied uses, so closely related that the development may <br />be considered as designed for one special purpose. The land <br />and/or development being under one ownership shall not be <br />considered the test for applying the term "Unified Development". <br /> <br />SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE - add to Section X, as Paragraph "C", the <br />.following: <br /> <br />Unified Development - <br />Those Unified Developments allowable under the Zoning Ordinance, <br />Section VIII, Paragraph C, together with necessary drives and ways <br />of access, may be approved by the Commission although the design <br />of the project does not include standard streets, lot and subdivision <br />arrangements, if departure from the foregoing standards can be made <br />without destroying their intent. <br />
