B2

TUESDAY

JULY 23, 1968

COUIIcil received and acknowledged a petition dated July 22, 1968, in which

(petition) the residents of South Banks Road requested Council to provide bus

service (through City Transit Company) for school children on this street,

beginning with the next school term. Discussion of this petition revealed

that the South Banks Road is a dead-end street at the present time, causing

appreciable turn-around problems for busses, and that the sight distance upon

entering Chatham Road from South Banks Road is extremely limited. Council then

_.

requested that the petitioners be advised of the report of the Director of

Public Works that plans are now being effected to connect this street with

Myrtle Road as a result of a subdivision now being developed between the two

streets, upon completion of which the City busses can traverse Banks Road and

Myrtle Road without difficulty.

Council was adj ourned.

").,'~---'-~
W.
