'>

{;

1_;

TUESDAY

MAY 28, 1968

The Martinsville Health Department requests the mayor of the City
of Martinsville, the City Council, the City manager ana all
departments of the City government that are concerned along with
the Health Department to make a concerted drive to eliminate as
many privies as possible between now and July 1, 1968.

It was noted that below-street level premises, not accessible to the

sewerage system except by mechanical means and now being served

satisfactorily by Health Department-approved septic tanks, may continue

to use such septic tank systems for such premises so long as these tanks

function properly.

Dr. ~mthes also discussed, upon Council inquiry, efforts to maintain

outside premises of drive-in restaurants in a sanitary and neat manner.

Mr. Robert McMillan appeared before COQ~cil to protest real estate

assessment of his property and was advised of his recourse in such matters.

Council was adjourned.
