<br />') f <br />..-.J .lL <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1967 <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Subject to stipulations verbally set forth before Council, Council authorized <br /> <br />the sale of seven acres of land (along the west boundary) within the City1s <br /> <br />Industrial Park to the The First National Bank of Martinsville & Henry County, <br /> <br />U/A Trustee for the Frith Family Trust, for the sum of $2,000.00 per acre. <br /> <br />Related thereto, through the Trust Department of the First National Bank, <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />request was filed for water service to provide fire protection and negligible <br /> <br />domestic consumption for the "du Pont'! warehouse being constructed by the <br /> <br />Fri th Family Trust on property outside the Ci tyl S Industrial Par~c but adj acent <br /> <br />to the seven-acre tract described hereinabove and being acquired by the Frith <br /> <br />Family Trust. Petitioner indicated that the Frith Family Trust would construct <br /> <br />a 250,000-gallon water storage tank on the seven-acre tract to provide additional <br /> <br />storage capacity for fire protection. Council, however, deferred action on this <br /> <br />request pending findings of a water system service study now in process, expected <br /> <br />to be completed within the next two or three weeks. <br /> <br />Council authorized the exchange of a small tract of land owned by the City to <br /> <br />the rear of the new City Hall (now under construction) for an adjoining small <br /> <br />tract owned by the S. Kolodny Estate, to better align the properties of both <br /> <br />parties in this area and to make for better usage of the joint alley involved. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of an expression of appreciation from Mr. R. E. <br /> <br />(Mike) Seidle, Jr., of the assistance rendered him by various City personnel to <br /> <br />enable him to obtain title to, and missing parts for, the 1924 American-LaFrance <br /> <br />Fire Engine sold by the City to Mr. Seidle on February 14, 1967. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland relayed to Council an invitation from the Virginia Department <br /> <br />of HighwaYEl to attend a function at the Fieldale-Collinsville High School on the <br />
