<br />19~ <br /> <br />JULY 25. 1967 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifth day of July, 1967, that <br />Irving W. Cubine, its City Attorney and an attorney at law, be and is <br />hereby authorized to institute condemnation proceedings to acquire said <br />rights-of-way and, as the City's attorney, to make oath to the petition, <br />all in accord with the statutes of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the <br />provlslons of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in such <br />cases made and provided. <br /> <br />By letter dated July 22, 1967, Mr. J. Louis Beckner informed Council that in 1957 <br /> <br />..- <br /> <br />he developed Meadow Lane and a portion of Stonewall Court under terms of the City1s <br /> <br />Subdivision Ordinance and, further, that he now requests permission to complete the <br /> <br />improvements on Stonewall Court under present Subdivision regulations, subject to <br /> <br />the availability of equipment and contractors to do the work. Council referred this <br /> <br />petition to tne Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation., <br /> <br />Mr. J. E. Ricnardson, of Richardson-Wyatt Buick Corporation (614 West Church Street), <br /> <br />appeared before Council and requested the closing and vacating of an unopened alley <br /> <br />(for a distance of approximately 176 feet) to the rear of Richardson-Wyatt Buick <br /> <br />Corporation. Council suggested that petitioner c0nfer with his attorney as to <br /> <br />required procedures in such cases. <br /> <br />"'........... <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />n, Clerk of Council <br />
