1 TUESDAY NOVEMBER 22. 1966 - The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, November 22, 1966, beginning at 7:30 P. M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, all members being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and Francis T. West. After the invocation, C01illcil approved the minutes of its regular meetings - held October 25, 1966 and November 8, 1966. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on the rezoning-and-zoning-ordinance-amendment petition dated September 27, 1966, as submitted by Evelyn H. Stone, Trustee, through Mr. J. Grady Monday, Attorney at Law, which petition requested the following: (1) Rezone to "C-3 Commercial" petitioner's property east of Memorial Boulevard South and south of Rivermont Heights; and (2) Amend the Zoning Ordinance to allow golf driving ranges in "C-3 Commercial" districts. Having received the Planning Commission1s recommendation that said petition be granted, and there being no objections (to the proposal) registered by any citizen, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance effecting petitioner's requests: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-second day of November, 1966, that the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be and are hereby amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to "C-3 CommerciaP all that parcel or parcels of land owned by Evelyn H. Stone, Trustee, and bounded by a tier of lots fronting the east side of Memorial Boulevard South, a tier of lots fronting the south side of Rivermont Heights, a tier of lots fronting the west side of Hillcrest Avenue, and the south corporate limit line of the City of Martinsville and/or a tier of lots fronting the north side of Overton Street; and
