<br />B <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br />-- <br /> <br />AUGUST 23. 1966 <br /> <br />---- <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this twenty-third day of August, 1966, <br />that the License Tax Ordinance of the City of Martinsville, 1949, and <br />as amended, be and is hereby further amended to provide that the <br />license tax rate applicable to the category 1tRetail Merchants" <br />(Section 11 of Chapter III of said Ordinance) shall be twenty cents <br />(20r) for each one hundres dollars of gross receipts, effective <br />Mn.y 1, 1967. <br /> <br />Also, in connection with the City's Business License Tax Ordinance, Council <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />directed that the CATV business of Mr. C. Harry Anglin, t/a Clearview Cable <br /> <br />Television Company, holder of CATV franchise awarded by Council on March 22, <br /> <br />1966, effective May 1, 1966 for a period of ten years, be classified under <br /> <br />said ordinance as a "business service1t. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by Councilman Boaz, the proposed <br /> <br />revisions to the City's 'Dog Ordinance1t (Article II, Chapter 2, of the City <br /> <br />Code), as placed on first reading June 28, 1966 and including additional <br /> <br />definitive words suggested by City Attorney Cubine, were placed on second <br /> <br />reading. <br /> <br />Upon being reminded of its required organizatimal meeting to be held September <br /> <br />1, 1966, in the Council Chamber, beginning at 9:00 A.M., Council members whose <br /> <br />terms do not expire on that date expressed appreciation of the valuable services <br /> <br />rendered by Mayor J. Frank -wilson and Councilman Thomas J.
