<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 28, 1966 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />which has evidenced a disposition to attack human <br />beings. Any violation of this section shall be <br />punished as provided in Section 1-6 of the Code <br />of the City, and should the owner of such dog <br />fail or refuse to comply with the terms of this <br />section, the court may order such dog be disposed <br />of in a humane manner by the impounding officer.tl <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />(b) tlThe harboring or keeping of any dog which by loud, <br />frequent or habitual barking or howling, or by <br />any other conduct, shall cause annoyance and <br />disturb the peace and quiet of any person or <br />neighborhood, shall be unlawful and a violation <br />of this chapter, and any such dog is hereby declared <br />to be a public nuisance. Any such dog may, after <br />reasonable notice has been given by the warden to <br />the owner of such dog, if known, or upon complaint <br />of any person, if such owner be unknown, be impounded <br />and confined in the city dog pound by the warden, the <br />game warden or any police officer, and the owner shall <br />be subject to the penalties provided for in section 2-17 <br />of this chapter. Disposition of any such dog shall be <br />in accordance with section 2-9 of this chapter.tl <br /> <br />In acceptance of the Planning Commission's report and recommendation on <br /> <br />requested rezoning of Martinsville General Hospital property on the north <br /> <br />side of Northside Drive, Council directed that a duly-advertised public <br /> <br />hearing thereon be conducted at Council's regular meeting to be held July <br /> <br />26, 1966. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland reviewed procedures in process toward obtaining Federal <br /> <br />financial assistance toward purchasing seven new 35-passenger busses to enable <br /> <br />R~pid Transit Company, holder of the City bus franchise, to continue operating <br /> <br />the local bus system under an agreement with the City. Upon motion, duly <br /> <br />seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following resolution <br /> <br />authorizing City Manager Noland to file an application for Federal financial <br /> <br />assistance toward the purchase of the busses: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />-"-"---'~----'-------_'_---,..._-_._._------..........-~ <br />
