<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 28, 1966 <br /> <br />Council continued for study the matter of establishing a local business <br /> <br />license tax category and/or rate applicable to the CATV system operation <br /> <br />of Clearview Cable Television Company, holder of recently-awarded CATV <br /> <br />franchise. <br /> <br />Upon motion, Council referred to the former Smoke Abatement Committee, <br /> <br />for its consideration and recommendation, a proposed or suggested air <br /> <br />pollution control ordinance. <br /> <br />After placing on first reading the following suggested ordinance to amend <br /> <br />Article II, Chapter 2, of the City Code, pertaining to the regulation of <br /> <br />dogs within the City, Council directed that both the current regulations <br /> <br />and the suggested amendments thereto be published in a local newspaper <br /> <br />to inform the general public thereof: <br /> <br />SECTION 2-8 Regulation of Dogs. <br /> <br />(a) ItIt shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to <br />allow such dog to run at large, at anytime, within <br />the city even though said dog be both lawfully <br />licensed and vaccinated. <br /> <br />(b) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to <br />allow, cause or permit such dog to enter any public <br />hall, restaurant, ice cream parlor, soft drink <br />parlor, food store, super market or public building, <br />or any office or store during the time such office <br />or store is opened for public business, whether the <br />dog be muzzled, or on leash, or otherwise under the <br />immediate control of such owner; but this shall not <br />apply to the small or I1toylt dog as long as it is being <br />carried by its custodian. <br /> <br />T~e provisions of subsection b of this section shall <br />not apply to Itseeing eyel1 dogs properly trained to <br />assist blind persons when such dogs are actually <br />being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding <br />them in going from place to placel1. <br /> <br />SECTION 2-15 Vicious, Barking or Howling Dogs <br /> <br />(a) ItIt shall be unlawful for any owner to keep within <br />the city any dog which is known to be vicious or <br /> <br />- <br />
