TUESDAY JUNE 28, 1966 Council continued for study the matter of establishing a local business license tax category and/or rate applicable to the CATV system operation of Clearview Cable Television Company, holder of recently-awarded CATV franchise. Upon motion, Council referred to the former Smoke Abatement Committee, for its consideration and recommendation, a proposed or suggested air pollution control ordinance. After placing on first reading the following suggested ordinance to amend Article II, Chapter 2, of the City Code, pertaining to the regulation of dogs within the City, Council directed that both the current regulations and the suggested amendments thereto be published in a local newspaper to inform the general public thereof: SECTION 2-8 Regulation of Dogs. (a) ItIt shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to allow such dog to run at large, at anytime, within the city even though said dog be both lawfully licensed and vaccinated. (b) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to allow, cause or permit such dog to enter any public hall, restaurant, ice cream parlor, soft drink parlor, food store, super market or public building, or any office or store during the time such office or store is opened for public business, whether the dog be muzzled, or on leash, or otherwise under the immediate control of such owner; but this shall not apply to the small or I1toylt dog as long as it is being carried by its custodian. T~e provisions of subsection b of this section shall not apply to Itseeing eyel1 dogs properly trained to assist blind persons when such dogs are actually being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding them in going from place to placel1.
