Grady Monday, <br /> <br />Attorney at Law (of Joyce & Stone, Attorneys at Law), on behalf of Mr. Roy C. <br /> <br />Stone, requesting the closing and vacating of a portion of Burl Street, a <br /> <br />duly-constituted Board of Viewers (Messrs. J. E. Jones, T. J. Childress, Jr., <br /> <br />and R. A. Henderson, Jr.) reported in writing that said Board had viewed the <br /> <br />property in question and has found that--in the Viewers! opinion--no <br /> <br />inconvenience will result to 811yone if the said portion of Burl Street is <br /> <br />ab811doned and discontinued; whereupon, Council unanimously accepted the report <br /> <br />and granted said petition, thus directing that said portion of Burl Street, <br /> <br />hereinafter described, be vacated 811d abandoned 811d that appropriate records <br /> <br />be so marked: <br /> <br />Beginning on the west side of Massey Street between Lot No. 12 (owned <br /> <br />by A. L. Mitchell) 811d Lot No. 17 (owned by Evelyn H. Stone, Trustee), <br /> <br />location of Martinsville Tire & Retreading Service, Inc., running west <br /> <br />on Burl Street approximately 213 feet, more or less, to the northwest <br /> <br />corner of the Evelyn H. Stone property. <br /> <br />By report dated June 6, 1966, the Pl811ning Commission informed Council that <br /> <br />required public hearing has been conducted on a petition submitted by Mr. <br /> <br />Harold Kolodny, requesting the rezoning of S. Kolodny Estate properties on <br /> <br />the south side of South Moss Street. The Commission further informed Council <br /> <br />that its public hearing also included an enlargement of the pe ti tion 811d, as <br /> <br />a result, the Commission recommended the rezoning from "R-6 Residential" to <br /> <br />"P-2 Professional1l all of the properties hereinafter described by ordin811ce <br /> <br />unanimously adopted by Council as 811 amendment to the Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in reE~lar meeting assembled this fourteenth day of June, 1966, that <br />the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, and is <br />hereby, amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--as "P-2 Professional" <br />the following properties: <br />
