~

TUESDAY

JANUARY 25, 1966

,,-

In anticipation of relocation in the near future of the Main Street Fire Station

to the new station being constructed at the corner of Church and Moss streets,

Council unanimously approved a proposed traffic pattern (revision) affecting

traffic movement and direction in that area, as recommended through City Manager

Noland by Traffic & Planning Engineer Irving R. McGhee.

-

Upon petitioL from Adkins Construction Corporation (Mr. R. A. Henderson, Jr.),

owner of certain property formerly owned by Mrs. Elsie E. Young and located along

Clearview Drive, Council unanimously authorized the executing of a quit-claim deed

to Adkins Construction Company, by which deed the City relinquishes its interest in

a water line easement across this property, inasmuch as a water line across the

property has since been relocated and the easement therefor is no longer necessary

to the City's interests.

By petition dated January 19, 1966, the owners of property along Sam Lion Trail,

between Corn Tassel Trail and Country Club Drive, requested construction by the

City, during the current fiscal year and on a shared-cost basis, of curb-and-gutter

along this section of Sam Lion Trail. Upon being informed that funds for such

projects have already been allocated for the current fiscal year, Council directed

that this petition be included with other petitions on file, for Council's review

in selecting projects for the year 1966-67.

Contingent upon compliance with applicable provisions of the City's Building and

Zoning Codes and with regulations governing the extending of water and sewer lines

outside the City's corporate limits, Council granted the request of Adkins

Construction Corporation (Mr. R. A. Henderson, Jr.) for City water and sewer

service to a lot (Lot No.9, Clara E. Buck map, Henry County, Virginia) located on

the north side of Spruce street Extended (outside the City's corporate limits),
