<br />') " <br />~) (J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 9, 1972 <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the Planning Commission, Council postponed consideration <br /> <br />of rezoning petition filed February 22, 1972, by Mr. J. Reid Troxler, requesting <br /> <br />the rezoning (from lC_2" to "M-l Industrial") of his property on the west side <br /> <br />of Jones Street, until such time as the Commission has before it a preliminary <br /> <br />report from the consultants preparing the Central Business District study. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted the Planning Commission's recommendation that, <br /> <br />should Burch Oil Company's request (filed March 14, 1972) for water service <br /> <br />and connection to petitioner's property on Chatham Road at or near intersection <br /> <br />of Douglas Road and Route 57 East, being outside the City's corporate limits, <br /> <br />be granted, covenants be attached to the property which would in effect zone <br /> <br />same for "R-9 Residential" usage. <br /> <br />Subject to duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council at its <br /> <br />forthcoming June 13th meeting, Council accepted the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />recommended proposal to amend Sections III and VIII of the City's Zoning <br /> <br />Ordinance regarding "residential structures or apartment buildings" designed <br /> <br />to accommodate more than eight family housekeeping units, with the proposed <br /> <br />amending ordinance being placed on first reading, as follows: <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />(a) To Section VIII (Special Use Section), paragraph C, add as "Part 8": <br />Apartments - Residential structures or apartment buildings <br />designed to accommodate over eight family housekeeping units to <br />be erected or (which) result from alteration of existing structures <br />on any lot. The petition shall conform with the requirements of <br />Section VIII, paragraph C, I-a. <br />(b) To Section III (General Provisions), at end of paragraph B-1, add: <br />No residential structure designed to accommodate more than eight <br />family residential housekeeping units shall be erected, or <br />created by alteration of existing structures, except pursuant to <br />the special use provisions of Section VIII. <br />
