<br />31 <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 22, 1972 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville Thoroughfare <br />Martinsville City Council on April 14, <br />proposed extension of Stultz Road from <br />City's northwest corporate limits in a <br />east to Route 108 (Figsboro Road); and <br /> <br />PlanL(1969), as adopted by <br />1970, provided for the <br />a point at or near the <br />direct line, more or less, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, subsequent planning and changed conditions have been <br />adjudged as waranting the abandoning of such proposed extension <br />in favor of relocating a portion of said Stultz Road and continuing <br />said Stultz Road generally along its present course to connect with <br />said Liberty Street at Clearview Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, procedural processes prescribed by both the State of <br />Virginia and the City of Martinsville, applicable to herein matter, <br />have been fully complied with; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this twenty-second day of February, <br />1972, that the Martinsville Thoroughfare Plan (1969) be--and is hereby <br />amended--to reflect the proposed relocating of a portion of Stultz <br />Road and to reflect the proposed widening and realigning of said <br />Stultz Road, all within that section from a point at or near t4e <br />City's northwest corporate limits and continuing generally along its <br />present course to its connection with Liberty Street at Clearview <br />Drive, and all pursuant to plans and details presented to and approved <br />by the Martinsville Planning Commission and having the concurrence of <br />the Virginia Department of Highways; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that a copy of this resolution <br />be filed with the Clerk of Martinsville Corporation Court. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following Motor Vehicle License Tax Ordinance which will become effective <br /> <br />March 15, 1972, containing the same rates and regulations as were effective <br /> <br />for the tax year which began March 15, 1971: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled, that as provided by the Charter of said <br />City, and for the purpose of providing funds for the maintenance of <br />the streets and highways of said City, there shall be levied and <br />collected a license tax for the City of Martinsville from the owners <br />of every motor vehicle, trailer, or semi-trailer residing in the <br />City of Martinsville, Virginia, and from every non-resident who is <br />the owner of a motor vehicle, trailer, or semi-trailer which is <br />used in a business, employment or profession carried on in said <br />City, other than those exempted by law, for the year beginning <br />March 15, 1972, which license tax shall be as follows: <br />
