After some discussion, and upon motion (duly seconded and carried), <br /> <br />Council respectfully declined said invitation. <br /> <br />..,.-. <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission and to a duly-constituted Board of <br /> <br />Viewers (composed of Messrs. Thomas J. Burch, Chairman, J. Ernest Jones, and <br /> <br />William B. Muse), for consideration and recommendation, a petition filed by Mrs. <br /> <br />Beulah W. Covington and Mrs. Nannie J. Draper, requesting the closing and vacating <br /> <br />of a portion of Douglas Street, which portion generally bisects lots identified as <br /> <br />Nos. 1,2,3,4,8,9,10, and 11. <br /> <br />Council referred to City Attorney Cubine, for his legal opinion and prudent <br /> <br />investigation, an inquiry from Commissioner of the Revenue D. B. Hanel, seeking <br /> <br />the formal establishing and/or concurrence by Council of a method to be followed <br /> <br />by the Commissioner in appraising or assessing personal property and machinery & <br /> <br />tools for taxation. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adjourned to an <br /> <br />executive session to consider a matter involving a real estate sale offer. <br /> <br />confidentially made to the City. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />w.
