<br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council and the Planning Commission
<br />
<br />conducted a joint public hearing on the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company's
<br />
<br />recent application for a special-use permit to allow conduct by applicant of its
<br />
<br />annual bazaars, at Brown Street Field, for the years 1971, 1972, and 1973. There
<br />
<br />being no objections registered, and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's
<br />
<br />favorable recommendation, Council unanimously granted Special-Use Permit for the
<br />
<br />years 1971, 1972, and 1973, subject to annual review and approval by Council
<br />
<br />prior to the conducting of said bazaar(s) for each of the years 1972 and 1973.
<br />
<br />City Manager Noland relayed to Council the recent invitation submitted by the
<br />
<br />Henry County Board of< Supervisors to join with the Supervisors in requesting the
<br />
<br />West Piedmont Planning District to ascertain whether federal funds are available
<br />
<br />and, if so, to apply for same to finance the cost of investigating methods of
<br />
