tYB

TUESDAY

FEBRUARY 9, 1971

Councilman Hobson informed Council that several citizens had expressed

concern over local bus service and facilities, which concern--as verbally

stated before Council by several citizens present--pointed out the fact

that the City Transit Company no longer provides a terminal with waiting-

room space and, too, there is but one bus providing service for children

living in the West End, which service is inadequate and which bus is

overcrowded. City Manager Noland explained the contractual arrangement

between the City and the City Transit Company for the providing of public

bus service and, also, the fact that one bus is temporarily out of service

and, furthermore, that there is a need for one or more additional busses,

funds for which additional bus or busses he hopes to provide in the City's

forthcoming 1971-72 budget.

After replying to one inquiry concerning the procedure by which property

owners may file for construction of curb-and-gutter, Council was adjourned.

W .f\',::~~, . .Ci"~rk of "ounci 1
