1 TUESDAY JANUARY 12, 1971 /- apartment complex (100 units) off Stultz Road, part of said complex to be within the City's corporate limits and part without the corporate limits. City Manager Noland informed Council that the Consultant's Report on Consolidation of January, 1971. Feasibility has been unavoidably delayed but should be received the latter part <- adopted the following resolution endorsing the Department's proposed Route 57 Pursuant to request from the Virginia Department of Highways, Council unanimously Highway Project (No. 0057-044-lll,PElOl), more specifically described in said resolution, on which construction bids will be received by the Highway Department on February 17, 1971, and on which a public hearing will be conducted by the Armory Road, Martinsville, Virginia: Department on February 26, 1971, at 7:30 P.M., at the National Guard Armory, WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the Commonwealth of Virginia proposes to construct a highway, to be identified as a segment of Route 57, from the intersection of Route 58 (0.53 mile east of the East Corporate Limits of Martinsville) to 4.86 miles east of the East Corporate Limits of Martinsville (West Fork of Leatherwood Creek) in Henry County; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, having been apprised of this proposed construction project and of its general location, is in general agreement with same; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twelfth day of January, 1971, that it unanimously endorses said proposed highway project as to general principle and route; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be made available, upon request, to the Virginia Highway Commission and to the Virginia Department of Highways.
