<br />IJ <br /> <br />TUE SDA Y <br /> <br />NOVEMBER lO, 1970 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and recommend- <br /> <br />ation, an application for a Special-Use Permit, filed by the Martinsville Jaycees, <br /> <br />Inc., which--if approved--will allow the Jaycees to proceed with plans to sponsor <br /> <br />the King Bros. Circus at Liberty Heights Field on Wednesday, May l2, 1971, proceeds <br /> <br />from which the Jaycees will allocate to its Youth Activities Fund. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Council also referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation, an application filed by Triangle Development (of Johnson City, <br /> <br />Tennessee) seeking a Special-Use Permit to allow development by petitioner of an <br /> <br />apartment complex off Route 57 West, under the Federal Rent Supplement Program as <br /> <br />referred to in Council's resolution adopted June 29, 1970. To expedite the <br /> <br />processing of this application, it was suggested that the required public hearings) <br /> <br />be conducted jointly by the Commission and the Council, preferably at a regular <br /> <br />meeting of the Council. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Vice-Mayor West, City Manager Noland reported that <br /> <br />an interim report from the City-County Merger Feasibility Study Commission should <br /> <br />be available within the immediate future. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
