E

TUESDAY

MAY 12, 1970

-,

for the license tax year beginning May 1, 1970. Mr. Nunn's letter informed

Council that he is discontinuing his grocery business as of the forthcoming

May 30th and probably would have done so sooner had he known that a license

tax liability would have been incurred by continuing his operation into the

month of May.

,-

Miss Sharon Lavinder, representing concerned local high school students,

appeared before Council in support of Councilts efforts toward abating various

forms of pollution in Martinsville.

Mr. Herbert P. Dillon, of 402 Minor Street, and other residents of Minor

Street, appeared before Council and inquired as to the priority status of

their curb-and-gutter petition filed with Council at its meeting held August

26, 1969. Council informed these citizens that construction of this

project would probably be scheduled early in the forthcoming (1970-71)

project year.

Council was adjourned.

~.-.....

w.

Clerk of Council
