<br />ro <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 24, 1970 <br /> <br />that it would be in the best interest of both the City and the County of <br /> <br />Henry to defer action on any future petitions received by the City until <br /> <br />a mutually-satisfactory plan and agreement between the City and Henry <br /> <br />County is developed. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Noland, Council amended and enlarged <br /> <br />its policy adopted May 12, 1959, relating to curb-and-gutter-and-widening <br /> <br />construction along streets designated as primary routes, where involved in <br /> <br />reconstruction and/or relocation, to include the exempting of property <br /> <br />owners along such routes from the City's share-cost policy as it pertains <br /> <br />to sidewalk construction. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of Mr. D. B. Hanel, Commissioner of the Revenue, Council <br /> <br />accepted the offer of the State Department of Taxation to reappraise, with <br /> <br />Taxation Department personnel and at no cost to the City, machinery and <br /> <br />tools within the City, such work to coincide with the current reappraisal of <br /> <br />real estate within the City. <br /> <br />Council acknowled~d, with appreciation, receipt of the annual report of the <br /> <br />City's Department of Recreation, for 1969-70, which included a progress <br /> <br />report for the period 1965-1970. <br /> <br />Pursuant to request of the owner(s) of the new postoffice facility, and the <br /> <br />general contractor therefor, under construction near the intersection of <br /> <br />Spruce Street and Brookdale Road, Council authorized the granting of a <br /> <br />storm-drain easement across the City"s adjoining property (purchased for <br />
