f
--1:

TUESDAY

FEBRUARY 24, 1970

By letter dated February 24, 1970, Mr. Michael B. Eanes, President of

American Standard Homes Corporation, requested the rezoning to "M-2" of

a tract of land south of Stultz Road and adjoining the Roy Stone Trucking

complex, inside the corporate limits, indicating that this corporation

expects to build a plant to manufacture houses on this tract, if City

water and sewer services are made available. Council referred the rezoning

request to the Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation.

City Manager Noland informed Council that the Public Works Department already

has the water and sewer request under study.

Pursuant to an inquiry relayed by Mayor Renick from some members of local

garden clubs, City Manager Noland indicated that areas--such as the parking

lots at Patrick Henry Mall--where trash and refuse thrown about have

become a problem, are being given attention and that improvements in their

"housekeeping" are in process.

Council was adjourned.

~~~
W.
