<br />12 <br /> <br />THURSDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 18, 1969 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />Virginia, rescheduled as per Council directive from its regular meeting held <br /> <br />November 25, 1969, was held Thursday, December 18, 1969, in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., <br /> <br />Dr. F. T. Renick, Mayor (presiding); Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. <br /> <br />Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held December 9, 1969. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on the proposed rezoning of Lanier Farm's property situated on the <br /> <br />south side of Spruce Street, between the east side of Indian Trail and the <br /> <br />rear of properties fronting the west side of Windsor Lane. There being no <br /> <br />objections to the proposed and requested rezoning, and the Planning Commission <br /> <br />having recommended that petitioner's request be granted, Council unanimously <br /> <br />adopted the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Code and Map, <br /> <br />effecting said rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this eighteenth day of <br />December, 1969, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map <br />of the City of Martinsville be--and are hereby--amended to <br />reclassify to "P-2 Professional" that property owned by Lanier <br />Farm, Inc., and located on the south side of Spruce Street <br />between the east side of Indian Trail and the rear lot lines <br />of residential properties fronting the west side of Windsor Lane. <br /> <br />Also, pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on the proposed rezoning of property owned by G. C. Y., Inc., <br /> <br />located in the area of Boden Street to the rear of the Club Martinique <br /> <br />property. There being no objections registeied to the proposed rezoning, <br />
