<br />'" ft <br />.-... ~ ) <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 12, 1969 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, (rescheduled from Tuesday, November 11, 1969), was held Wednesday, <br /> <br />November 12, 1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., <br /> <br />all members being present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Vice-Mayor Francis <br /> <br />T. West; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held October 28, 1969, and of its special meeting held November 3, <br /> <br />1969. <br /> <br />After conducting a duly-advertised public hearing on The Lester Corporation's <br /> <br />recent application for a special-use permit--to construct an additional <br /> <br />apartment building at the southeast corner of Corn Tassel Trail and Spruce <br /> <br />Street--and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation thereon <br /> <br />dated October 14, 1969, and there being no objections registered by anyone <br /> <br />to the issuance of such a permit, Council unanimously authorized the issuance <br /> <br />of said permit for the purpose stated in application, under the Unified <br /> <br />Housing Development section of the City's Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />In acceptance of the Planning Commission's report dated November 7, 1969, <br /> <br />Council granted permission to Adkins Construction Corporation to connect <br /> <br />to the City's water and sewer lines for service to a proposed facility on <br /> <br />the northeast side of Spruce Street, in Henry County, adjacent to the <br /> <br />Martinsville Convalescent Home, subject to the execution of required contract <br /> <br />therefor and subject to the following: <br /> <br />(1) Adkins Construction Corporation will comply with all the require- <br />ments of the City's Zoning Ordinance as established under the <br />"R-9 Residential" district thereof, in the development of the <br />property; and <br />
