r~

-

TUESDAY

OCTOBER 14, 1969

Mr. Robert W. Grant, Executive Secretary of the County of Henry and Secretary of

the Henry County Public Service Authority, appeared before Council and informed

Council that the Authority has purchased the Villa Heights Water Company and now

wishes to continue (and/or conclude) negotiations toward a contractual agreement

by which the City might receive and treat sewage from the area formerly served

by the Villa Heights Water Company. Mr. Grant also requested that negotiations

begin, between the City and the Authority, toward entering into a similar agree-

ment whereby the City might receive and treat sewage from an area south of the

City, being from Route 220 (South) "cloverleaf" and along said highway to the

City's Industrial Park and, perhaps, including the sections known as Rich Acres

and Arlington Heights. Council deferred action on the latter request, pending a

forthcoming conference with the Henry County Board of Supervisors to pursue

matters pertaining to merging and/or consolidating of the two governmental

functions and operations; meanwhile, Council referred this request to the Planning

Commission for its consideration and advice.

Council received and referred to the Planning Commission for its consideration

and recommendation the following two petitions filed by the G. C. Y. Corporation,

(Mr. Jerry S. Chaney, Secretary):

(1) Request for rezoning to "C-3" of petitioner's property lying to rear
of former Club Martinique building and extending to Roden Street; and
(2) Request for closing of twenty-foot street off Boden Street.

Council was adjourned.

'2~,*- '; "..
W.
