TUESDAY

FEBRUARY 25, 1975

Upon being advised by Public Works Director-Assistant City Manager George W. Brown

that the City must adopt (by January 1, 1976) a "Sediment & Erosion Control"

ordinance, which would include State requirements, or abide by the State's controls

thereon, Council authorized the preparation of a final draft of such an ordinance

for Council's consideration.

Mr. John A. Jones, of 1308 Cardinal Lane, appeared before Council and cited the need

for restrooms for children using the West End Park as well as the need for replacing

restrooms at Community Park. It was pointed out that restrooms at Community Park

were closed because of vandalism. Mr. Jones also indicated that a group--not

associated with organized recreational-sponsored programs--has been denied usage

of English Field to play baseball; however, it was pointed out that, because of

problems in scheduling activities for the City's facilities, the usage of such

facilities must be limited to organized groups under programs developed and

controlled by the City's Recreation Department.

Council was adjourned.

A ~ . )-- -'

W.
